2014 ICAA Conference: Health, Social, and Economic Dynamics of Hispanic and Latin American Aging

Sept 23 – 25, Institute of Behavioral Science, University of Colorado at Boulder. Boulder, CO.

The 2014 International Conference on Aging in the Americas (ICAA) is the seventh installment of the conference on aging in the Americas series, a partnership between the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Southern California, and the University of California – Los Angeles. The 2014 installment is being made possible by generous support from the National Institute on Aging; the Austin Community Foundation; the University of Texas at Austin; the P & S Kempner Fund and the WHO/PAHO Collaborating Center on Aging and Health at the University of Texas Medical Branch; and the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

This year, the conference will focus on the social and economic demography of Hispanic aging, migration, and immigrant adaptation and Latino integration. The works presented in the conference will deal with the dynamics of health and aging among Latinos in the United States and Mexicans in Mexico, as well as its social and economic correlates. The meeting will also serve as a springboard of discussion on how migration stems from and affects the health, social, and economic dynamics of aging on both sides of the border, and how aging relates to immigrant adaptation and Latino integration/assimilation processes.

We are currently working on confirming our speaker lineup. We will post the full conference schedule by mid-late August, 2014. In the meantime, here are some details of the general schedule of the conference to help you plan your travel:
